Anti-fracking groups call for Colorado oil and gas director to resign

Jul 25, 2013, 6:30pm MDT

A coalition of nearly 50 groups opposed to the use of hydraulic fracturing, or fracking, in Colorado has called for the resignation of Matt Lepore, the director of the Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission, because of remarks Lepore made at an energy forum in Loveland in mid-July.

The letter, dated Thursday, was signed by several groups including Food & Water Watch, which wants to ban the use of fracking, and local groups that also have opposed oil and gas operations in their communities such as Erie Rising, What the Frack?! Arapahoe, Frack Free Fort Collins, and Frack Free Colorado.
