While landowners are profiting from fracking in Pennsylvania, it’s up to them to hunt down potentially deadly violations. The newscasters brought the violations to the attention of the lease holders, none of whom were previously aware of the violations. As of the report, all violations were as yet unresolved. The Department of Environmental Protection is not required to notify landowners of well violations on their property.
